Recently leaked source code based on Windows Server 2003 along with Windows XP is reported to be correct.
If you remember, until 1 week ago, Windows XP source code on the internet We reported that it was leaked. The 43GB collection included many sub-layers of Windows XP and was shared on 4chan.
After these events, a Microsoft representative was reached and a reply was like “we are investigating the issue”. Since then, there has been no development yet. But ZDNetReports that Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 source codes, which were thought to be largely genuine, have now been originally certified.
NDETV compiled the source code for both operating systems and they were able to use it as a working operating system. Eventually few elements like winlogon.exe were reported missing. However, we can say that almost the full retail version of the operating system has been obtained.
The fact that the leak is real means that researchers and hackers can work to understand the details and functioning of the operating system. As we said, the usage rate of Windows XP is very low, at 0.82%. However, it is said that it is still used in cash machines and some official institutions, namely in official areas.
